Abstract

Confucius' maxim "Among three people walking, there must be one I can learn from" encapsulates a profound ethical view of learning grounded in mutual observation and moral cultivation. This paper reinterprets the Confucian concept of mutual learning (互学) through classical analysis, philosophical reflection, and modern application. It argues that the idea of “My Teacher” (我师) offers enduring relevance to contemporary issues such as educational reform, ethical coexistence, and digital transformation. In a world increasingly shaped by pluralism and technology, the Confucian vision of learning through others provides a vital moral compass. The paper concludes with a contemporary interpretation: “To cultivate oneself among others, to realize ren through the path of learning.”
