Peer Review Policy

Three Teachings Studies: Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism (TTS) employs a double-blind peer review process for all research articles and select scholarly submissions. This ensures a fair and impartial evaluation based solely on academic quality, relevance, and originality.

Review Process

1.
Initial Screening: All submissions are first reviewed by the editorial team to assess their suitability. Submissions not meeting basic standards may be returned without external review.
2.
Double-Blind Review: Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by two or more anonymous reviewers. Authors and reviewers remain unidentified to each other throughout.
3.
Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editorial office will decide to:
Accept without revisions Accept with minor revisions Request major revisions Reject
4.
Revision and Resubmission: Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or the editors, depending on the nature of the revisions.

(Authors will receive anonymized reviewer feedback and a summary editorial decision.)

Review Criteria

Reviewers assess submissions based on:

  • Relevance to the scope of the journal
  • Originality and scholarly contribution
  • Clarity of argument and structure
  • Accuracy in use of sources and terminology
  • Methodological rigor
  • Engagement with relevant scholarship
Other Submissions

Shorter contributions (e.g., book reviews, forum essays, translations, textual notes) are usually reviewed internally by the editors, though external review may be requested as needed.

TTS values thoughtful, constructive, and timely peer review. We thank our reviewers for contributing to the scholarly excellence and ethical integrity of the journal.
