Submission Guidelines

Three Teachings Studies: Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism (TTS) welcomes original research and scholarly contributions on topics related to the interaction, comparison, and cultural manifestations of the Three Teachings. We accept manuscripts in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. (All non-English submissions must include an English title and abstract.)

Submission Types

  • ▪ Articles (6,000–10,000 words)
  • ▪ Review Articles (up to 8,000 words)
  • ▪ Book Reviews (1,000–2,000 words)
  • ▪ Translation and Annotation (length flexible; include translator’s introduction)
  • ▪ Forum Contributions (2,000–5,000 words)
  • ▪ Documents and Textual Notes (length flexible; with brief editorial introduction)
  • ▪ Lectures (invited or curated; revised for publication)

Format

  • Submit as a Word document (.doc or .docx)
  • Use footnotes generally (use endnotes for "Translation and Annotation" and "Documents and Textual Notes")
  • Include an English abstract (150–250 words) and 5–7 keywords
  • For non-English submissions, original text (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese) should be retained where appropriate
  • Romanization is optional and should only be included when necessary for clarity

Peer Review

All research articles are subject to double-blind peer review. Other submission types may undergo internal or external review depending on content and format.

Ethics

Submissions must be original, properly cited, and not under review elsewhere. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, or any form of academic misconduct will result in rejection.
