
Author Ethics Policy
Three Teachings Studies: Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism (TTS) upholds the highest standards of scholarly ethics. The following guidelines are intended to safeguard originality, transparency, and academic responsibility across all submissions.
1. Originality and Plagiarism
- ▪ All work must be the author’s original composition.
- ▪ Manuscripts must not be previously published or under review elsewhere.
- ▪ Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and unacknowledged translation, is strictly forbidden.
- ▪ Sources and intellectual debts must be properly cited.
2. Authorship and Contributions
- ▪ Only individuals who have made significant academic contributions should be listed as authors.
- ▪ Guest or honorary authorship is not permitted.
- ▪ Translators, editors, or annotators must be clearly acknowledged.
3. Data Integrity and Documentation
- ▪ All data and sources must be accurate, verifiable, and cited appropriately.
- ▪ Fabrication or manipulation of sources constitutes misconduct.
- ▪ Original versions of translated or edited works should be made available when feasible.
4. Conflicts of Interest
- ▪ Authors must disclose any relevant financial, institutional, religious, or political affiliations.
5. Human Research Ethics
- ▪ For interviews or fieldwork, authors must secure informed consent and ensure anonymization.
- ▪ Compliance with local ethics guidelines is mandatory.
6. Corrections and Retractions
- ▪ Authors must report any substantive errors discovered post-publication.
- ▪ TTS reserves the right to issue corrections or retractions in cases of ethical breach.
7. Copyright and License
- ▪ Authors retain full copyright of their work.
- ▪ All publications appear under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0).
- ▪ This license allows reuse with appropriate attribution.
