Interaction & Exchange｜交流與互動

This section explores the dynamic interactions among Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism within specific historical, geographic, and sociocultural contexts. Rather than treating each tradition as a fixed or isolated system, we foreground processes of mutual influence, negotiation, and transformation—shaped by local conditions and historical agency.

Whether in a shared temple space, an imperial edict, a village ritual, or a scholar’s synthetic essay, the Three Teachings have continually intersected, competed, and converged in ways that resist simple classification. We welcome contributions that attend to such moments of encounter—doctrinal, ritual, artistic, institutional, or political—and examine how they are embedded in specific spatial and temporal contexts.

Topics of interest include:

• ▪ Comparative studies of Three Teachings interaction in specific dynasties, regions, or institutions
• ▪ Local religious landscapes and shared ritual spaces
• ▪ Imperial or state efforts to harmonize or distinguish the Three Teachings
• ▪ Syncretic texts, visual programs, or architectural forms
• ▪ Interreligious debates, accommodations, and polemics
• ▪ Regional reinterpretations of canonical teachings
• ▪ Transcultural transmission and translation of doctrines

We particularly welcome studies that combine close textual or ethnographic work with attention to spatial, social, and political dimensions. This section seeks to trace how teachings are remade in practice, offering grounded insights into the complex ecology of East Asian religio-philosophical life.

本專欄探討儒、道、佛三教於具體歷史、地理與社會文化情境中的動態交會。不同於將三教視為孤立之體系，我們重點關注其互動、協商與轉化的歷程，並思考地方條件與歷史行動者之角色。

來稿可採文本分析、田野調查、歷史研究等方法。我們特別鼓勵兼顧細緻實證與宏觀時空觀點的跨學科論文，以描繪教義於實踐中如何被重構與再生。
