Call for Papers: Vol. 2 (2026) Ming Dynasty Classic Literature, Thought, and Three Teachings Traditions 明代經典文學、思想與三教傳統

Three Teachings Studies (TTS) is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for its second volume. While Vol. 2 remains a regular issue open to all high-quality research on Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism, we strictly encourage submissions focusing on the intersection of Ming Dynasty literature and religious thought.

本刊第二卷為「常規徵稿卷」,在接受三教研究相關各類高質量論文的同時,特別歡迎圍繞 明代文學與思想巨著 的研究成果。明代是三教思想在社會倫理、修行實踐與敘事結構中高度交織的時代,深刻影響了文學的主題建構。

1. The Four Classic Novels & Three Teachings / 四大名著研究

  • Dream of the Red Chamber (《紅樓夢》): Religious metaphors, cultivation narratives, and the symbolism of "Illusion" and "Karma". (思想史、宗教隱喻、修行敘事)

  • Journey to the West (《西遊記》): Buddhist-Daoist interaction, alchemy, cosmology, and demon-subduing narratives. (佛道互動、內丹宇宙論、降魔敘事)

  • Water Margin (《水滸傳》): Loyalty, karmic retribution, religious order, and social violence. (忠義倫理、因果報應、宗教秩序)
