Journal History
Founding Vision
The International Review of Education and Learning Sciences (IRELS) was established to provide an international scholarly platform for high-quality research in education and the learning sciences. The journal was founded in response to the growing demand for rigorous, interdisciplinary research addressing learning, teaching, educational systems, and education-related policies in a rapidly evolving global context.
Governance and Standards
Since its establishment, IRELS has been committed to building a transparent and robust editorial and peer review framework aligned with internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.
- • Open Access Design: The journal was designed from its inception as an open access publication, with the aim of ensuring broad dissemination and accessibility of research outputs.
- • Section-Based Governance: IRELS adopts a section-based editorial governance model to support disciplinary diversity while maintaining consistent editorial oversight.
Continuous Development
The journal continues to develop its editorial policies, reviewer network, and publication practices in accordance with best practices recommended by international indexing and abstracting services. As a developing international journal, IRELS is focused on the gradual and sustainable enhancement of its academic quality, editorial processes, and global visibility. We welcome contributions from researchers worldwide and seek to foster inclusive and responsible scholarly communication.
