Data Availability & Reproducibility Policy
The International Review of Education and Learning Sciences (IRELS) supports transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data sharing as essential components of high-quality scholarly research. We encourage authors to contribute to the open science ecosystem wherever possible.
Data Availability Statement
Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their findings available to other researchers. Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript indicating:
- 1.Whether the data are publicly available.
- 2.Where the data can be accessed (e.g., repository name, DOI, or link).
- 3.Any restrictions on data access and the specific reasons for such restrictions.
Data Sharing Exceptions
IRELS recognizes that data sharing may not always be possible. Valid reasons include:
- Ethical or privacy considerations (e.g., participant anonymity).
- Legal or contractual restrictions.
- Protection of confidential or sensitive information.
* In such cases, authors should clearly explain the reasons for data unavailability in their statement.
Reproducibility Standards
Authors are expected to describe their research methods and analytical approaches with sufficient detail to allow other researchers to assess and, where feasible, reproduce the study.
Editors and reviewers may consider data availability practices during peer review. However, the absence of publicly available data does not automatically preclude publication, provided a clear justification is offered.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that shared data comply with ethical standards, privacy regulations, and applicable laws. The journal does not require authors to violate confidentiality agreements.
