
Foundations of Education
The Foundations of Education section of IRELS provides a scholarly forum for research that examines the fundamental theoretical, philosophical, historical, and sociological dimensions of education.
We seek studies that address the conceptual underpinnings of educational thought and practice, including critical analyses of educational ideas, traditions, and systems. Contributions are expected to demonstrate strong theoretical grounding, analytical rigor, and relevance to contemporary educational debates.
Scope of the Section
The section welcomes research on themes including, but not limited to:

- ▪ Historical studies of education systems, policies, and institutions.
- ▪ Sociological analyses of education, inequality, and social structures.
- ▪ Comparative and cross-cultural studies of educational traditions.
