Fostering Global Academic Equity and Inclusion

Equity & Inclusion Statement

To support early-career researchers and ensure that financial barriers do not impede the dissemination of high-quality scholarship, GRHAS offers discretionary fee waivers or reductions. These reflect our non-commercial, volunteer-led model and are granted upon rigorous editorial review.

1.1 Young Scholar Support

Who is Eligible?

  • Undergraduate, Master’s, or Doctoral students
  • Postdocs (within 5 years of PhD completion)
  • Authors under the age of 35
  • First-time authors in international journals

Support Offered

  • 30–50% reduction or full APC waiver
  • No fixed quota; all applications reviewed fairly
  • Additional Career Benefits: GRHAS official recommendation letters & priority invitation to reviewer training programs.

1.2 Low-Income Economies

Eligibility Criteria

Authors affiliated with institutions in countries listed as "Low-income" or "Lower-middle-income" by the World Bank.

Support Offered

  • 30–100% reduction based on financial need
  • Automatic priority for work aligned with UN SDGs
  • Support for non-native English language polishing

1.3 Application Process

Waiver requests are evaluated by the GRHAS Financial Coordination Team independently of the peer-review process. Please note that standard APC levels apply unless a formal waiver is approved.
