Publication Ethics
Global Review of Humanities, Arts and Society (GRHAS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing. The journal adheres to internationally recognized principles of scholarly publishing and requires authors, editors, and reviewers to follow ethical practices throughout the submission, review, and publication processes. The journal’s ethical policies are aligned with widely accepted standards of responsible academic publishing.
The journal does not tolerate any form of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submission, inappropriate authorship attribution, citation manipulation, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. Allegations of misconduct will be handled seriously and investigated according to established editorial procedures.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to GRHAS must ensure that their work meets the following ethical requirements:
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been previously published or submitted simultaneously to another journal. All sources, data, quotations, and ideas derived from other works must be appropriately cited. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or unacknowledged use of others’ work, is strictly prohibited.
Authorship and Contributions
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and writing of the manuscript. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission. Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
Data Integrity and Research Transparency
Authors must present research results accurately and honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation of data. When applicable, authors should provide sufficient methodological detail to allow the research to be understood and, where possible, replicated.
Multiple or Concurrent Submissions
Manuscripts submitted to GRHAS must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time. Duplicate publication or redundant publication of substantially similar research is not permitted.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or presentation of the research. All potential conflicts of interest should be declared at the time of submission.
Ethical Approval
Research involving human participants, personal data, cultural heritage materials, or sensitive social contexts must comply with relevant ethical standards and institutional guidelines. Where required, authors must confirm that appropriate ethical approval and informed consent have been obtained.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity, quality, and fairness of the editorial process.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of the academic merit, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope. Editors must not be influenced by commercial interests, institutional affiliations, or personal relationships.
Fair and Objective Evaluation
Editors evaluate submissions without discrimination based on the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, ethnicity, or other personal characteristics.
Confidentiality
Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose any information about the manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or members of the editorial team as appropriate.
Handling of Conflicts of Interest
Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors. In such cases, another editor will be assigned to manage the review process.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the academic quality of the journal.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal advantage.
Objectivity and Constructive Feedback
Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and scholarly evaluations of manuscripts. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate. Reviews should focus on the academic merit, clarity, and contribution of the research.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an impartial review. If such conflicts exist, the reviewer should decline the review invitation.
Identification of Relevant Literature
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editors of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published research.
Allegations of Misconduct
GRHAS takes allegations of publication misconduct seriously. Suspected cases of plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, citation manipulation, or unethical research practices will be investigated by the editorial office.
If misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate corrective actions, including:
- rejection of the manuscript
- publication of corrections or clarifications
- retraction of published articles
- notification of relevant institutions or research bodies when necessary
Corrections, Retractions, and Updates
If significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or editorial notices to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Such actions will be clearly indicated and linked to the original publication.
Ethical Commitment
By submitting manuscripts to GRHAS, authors confirm that they comply with the journal’s ethical policies and with internationally accepted standards of responsible scholarly publishing. The journal remains committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, and integrity in all aspects of academic publishing.
