Style & Formatting Guidelines
All submissions to Resonance must adhere to the following standards to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with international academic publishing practices.
Language & Style
Accepted: English Chinese German Italian Russian
- Must include English title & abstract.
- Use clear, concise academic prose.
- Italicize non-English terms upon first use.
Document Format

Citations: Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.)
Authors may use one of the two systems below (must be consistent):
Option A: Notes & Bibliography
- Use numbered footnotes for citations.
- Include a full bibliography at the end.
Option B: Author-Date
- In-text citations: (Smith 2020, 45)
- Include a full reference list at the end.
Required Metadata
Abstract (English) 150–200 words
Keywords 4–6 terms
Biographical Note 100–150 words (3rd person)
Media & Supplements
- Musical Examples: High-resolution images or PDF. Must include captions and numbering (e.g., Example 1).
- Audio/Video: Accessible links or separate files with descriptive labels.
- Permissions: Authors are responsible for obtaining copyright permissions.
- Supplements: Scores, appendices, or transcripts must be labeled and referenced in the text.
