CSGS relies on the expertise and integrity of our peer reviewers to maintain the highest standards of scientific rigor, methodological transparency, and global relevance.
1. Purpose of Peer Review
The primary role of a reviewer is to provide an objective evaluation and constructive feedback to support academic quality. We follow a double-blind review system.
2. Review Timeline
Timely reviews are essential to meet our target of a First Decision within 30 days.
3. Evaluation Criteria
Does the work contribute new knowledge to climate sustainability or global systems?
Are methods appropriate, assumptions transparent, and models reproducible?
Are results verifiable? Is the Data Availability Statement accurate?
Does the study demonstrate systemic understanding and global implications?
4. Ethical Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Declare all conflicts of interest.
- Alert editors to plagiarism or fabrication.
5. AI and Technology Use
Confidential manuscripts must not be entered into AI systems. AI must not replace independent scholarly judgment.
7. Constructive Feedback & Recommendations
Reviews should be professional, respectful, and actionable. Possible recommendations:
Do not request citations to your own work without justification. Delete all manuscript files after completing the review.
We value your contribution. CSGS provides acknowledgment certificates and anonymized annual statistics.
