Complaints & Appeals

Climate Sustainability & Global Systems (CSGS) is committed to fair, transparent, and accountable editorial decision-making. All cases are handled impartially and confidentially.

1. Scope of Complaints

Complaints submitted in writing may relate to the following areas:

• Editorial decisions & delays
• Peer review process
• Publication ethics concerns
• Allegations of misconduct
• Conflicts of interest
• Production errors

2 & 3. Appeals Process

Authors may appeal a rejection if a significant misunderstanding or factual error occurred. Note: Disagreement with reviewer opinion alone is not grounds for appeal.

Submission Requirements:
  • Must be submitted within 30 days of the decision.
  • Provide a detailed academic justification and supporting evidence.
  • Address specific reviewer comments point-by-point.

Processing Time: Approximately 30 days. The appeal decision is final.

4. Editorial Conduct

Complaints concerning editors or reviewers are investigated per COPE guidance. Serious cases may be escalated to the Publisher or an independent board member.

5. Publisher Conduct

Complaints about the publisher are directed to a designated ethics contact. The publisher ensures procedural fairness without interfering in editorial judgment.

6. Protection Against Retaliation

CSGS does not tolerate retaliation against whistleblowers or those raising ethical concerns in good faith. All complaints are handled with the utmost respect and confidentiality.

7. Transparency

All appeals are documented internally and resolved with written notification. Outcomes may lead to corrections or retractions.

8. Unacceptable Complaints

Abusive, defamatory, or repeated submissions without new evidence will not be processed by the journal.

The integrity of the scholarly record and the fairness of our processes are our highest priorities. All inquiries regarding status should be directed to the Editorial Office.
