Section Scope:
The Interdisciplinary Research section highlights studies that transcend traditional boundaries between medical disciplines, integrating concepts, methodologies, and practices from Western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and other health sciences. This section is dedicated to work that addresses complex health challenges through collaborative, cross-disciplinary approaches.
1. Focus Areas
We welcome high-quality contributions in, but not limited to:
- Integrative Clinical Trials – studies combining Western and TCM interventions for prevention, treatment, or rehabilitation.
- Systems Biology & Network Medicine – exploring multi-level biological mechanisms underlying integrative approaches.
- Transcultural Health Studies – comparing and synthesizing medical concepts across cultural contexts.
- Public Health and Policy Integration – using combined medical models to inform health policy and community health programs.
- Digital Health and Big Data – applying AI, machine learning, and data analytics to multi-modal health interventions.
- Education and Training – innovative curricula blending TCM and Western medical education.
2. Article Types Accepted
- Original Research (experimental, clinical, or mixed-methods designs)
- Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses of interdisciplinary approaches
- Methodological Papers describing innovative ways to integrate research frameworks
- Case Reports & Case Series demonstrating successful interdisciplinary applications

4. Peer Review & Editorial Standards
- All submissions undergo double-blind peer review with at least one reviewer from each relevant discipline.
- Authors must clearly describe how their work is interdisciplinary, specifying contributions from each field.
- Clinical studies must adhere to ethical standards and international trial registration requirements.
