Archiving & Preservation

Archiving & Preservation

Health Nexus is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility, preservation, and integrity of all published content. The journal adopts recognized digital archiving standards to safeguard the scholarly record.

1. Digital Preservation Strategy

All articles published in Health Nexus are preserved through reliable digital archiving systems to ensure permanent accessibility, even in the event of journal discontinuation.

The journal supports participation in recognized preservation services, including:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
  • Portico (subject to implementation)

These systems ensure redundancy, integrity verification, and long-term storage across distributed networks.

2. Persistent Identifiers

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure:

  • Permanent and stable access to content
  • Reliable citation and linking
  • Integration with global scholarly infrastructure

DOIs are registered through recognized agencies (e.g., CrossRef).

3. Version of Record

The journal maintains the Version of Record (VoR) as the definitive, citable version of each article.

  • Any post-publication updates (e.g., corrections, retractions) are clearly documented.
  • Earlier versions are preserved with transparent version control.

4. Repository Policy

To enhance accessibility and redundancy:

  • Authors may deposit the Version of Record in institutional or subject repositories.
  • Articles may be indexed and archived in third-party databases and repositories.
  • No embargo period applies to self-archiving.

5. Website and Platform Preservation

The journal’s publishing platform is maintained to ensure:

  • Continuous access to published content
  • Secure data storage and backup systems
  • Protection against data loss or system failure

Regular backups and system monitoring are conducted to maintain platform integrity.

6. Metadata and Indexing Support

Health Nexus ensures that all articles are accompanied by:

  • Structured metadata (e.g., author information, abstracts, keywords)
  • Machine-readable formats to support indexing and discoverability
  • Compatibility with indexing and archiving systems

7. Publisher Responsibilities

Panorama Scholarly Group (PSG), as the publisher, is responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining archiving systems
  • Ensuring long-term digital preservation
  • Supporting interoperability with global indexing and repository services

8. Compliance with International Standards

This policy aligns with:

  • DOAJ preservation requirements
  • COPE best practices
  • International standards for digital scholarly archiving
