Submission Guidelines

1. Scope of the Journal

AI and Future Society publishes interdisciplinary research and critical perspectives on the societal transformations driven by artificial intelligence. We welcome contributions to the following sections:

  • AI and Ethics
  • AI Governance and Regulation
  • Human-AI Interaction
  • Technology and Future Society
  • Critical AI Studies
  • Special Issues
  • Perspectives and Commentary
  • AI in Medicine and Health (AIMH)

2. Manuscript Types

  • Research Articles: 4000-8000 words (Original theoretical or empirical work)
  • Review Articles: 5000-9000 words (Comprehensive literature syntheses)
  • Critical Essays and Commentaries: 2000-4000 words (Conceptual or speculative analyses)
  • Short Communications: 1500-3000 words (Exploratory or preliminary research)
  • Invited Contributions: For Special Issues and Editorial Commentaries

3. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must include the following mandatory elements:

  • Title, Abstract (150-250 words) and 5-7 keywords
  • Structured main text with headings
  • References in APA 7th style
  • Author affiliations and ORCID IDs
  • Acknowledgments and funding statements
  • Ethics declarations (if applicable)
  • Data availability statement for empirical studies

4. Ethical Standards

Authors are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity:

  • Disclose all conflicts of interest
  • Obtain IRB or ethics committee approval where required
  • Ensure data privacy, consent, and appropriate use
  • Provide open data/code licensing where relevant

4.1 AI Usage Disclosure

Responsible and transparent use of AI tools must be declared. Authors must complete the AI Usage Disclosure Form if any AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Copilot) were used during writing, analysis, or visualization.

5. Peer Review Policy

All research submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Authors must anonymize submissions. Editorial outcomes include:

  • Forward to peer review
  • Request major revision prior to review
  • Reject at editorial screening stage

6. Formatting and Style

Manuscripts must be submitted in DOCX format. Use inclusive, non-discriminatory language. Embed all figures and tables with appropriate captions. Use footnotes sparingly.


7. Submission Process

Submit via our OJS platform. Registration is required for first-time users. All submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.


8. Licensing and Copyright

Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors agree to these terms automatically. No separate publication agreement is required upon acceptance.
