Publication Ethics and Integrity Policy

AI and Future Society upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and scholarly integrity. The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE and expects all authors editors and reviewers to adhere to these principles throughout the publication process.

1 Author Responsibilities

  • Submit original work that is not under review or previously published
  • Avoid plagiarism self-plagiarism and data fabrication cite all sources appropriately
  • Disclose funding sources and potential conflicts of interest
  • Obtain ethics approval for research involving human participants or sensitive data
  • Respect privacy informed consent and data protection regulations
  • Provide data availability statements and code when applicable

2 Editorial Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a fair and unbiased editorial process
  • Making decisions based on scholarly merit and relevance alone
  • Protecting the anonymity of authors and reviewers
  • Responding swiftly to suspected ethical misconduct
  • Recusing themselves in the event of conflicts of interest

3 Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively confidentially and promptly
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest
  • Not use manuscript content for personal advantage
  • Provide respectful and constructive feedback

4 Misconduct and Corrections

The journal investigates all allegations of misconduct including:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data falsification or fabrication
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Misrepresentation of authorship
  • Duplicate or redundant publication

Potential outcomes include:

  • Manuscript rejection or article retraction
  • Issuing correction notices
  • Reporting to institutions or funding bodies
  • Ban on future submissions

5 Retractions Corrections and Expressions of Concern

In line with COPE best practices:

  • Corrections issued when honest errors are identified post-publication
  • Retractions issued in cases of serious ethical violations
  • Expressions of Concern issued while investigations are ongoing
