Standard Article Processing Charges APC
AI and Future Society is an open-access journal. To support high-quality peer review professional editing and digital archiving the following fees apply:
- Research Articles USD 300
- Commentaries and Perspectives Free
- Invited or Special Issue Articles Discounted or waived by prior agreement
APCs are invoiced only after acceptance.
Waiver and Discount Policy
To promote equitable access APC waivers or discounts are available for authors with limited funding. Waiver decisions are made independently of the peer review process.
Full waivers are granted to:
- Authors from low or lower-middle income countries per World Bank
- Graduate students or independent researchers without institutional funding
- Research primarily conducted in the Global South
Partial waivers may be considered for:
- Authors from middle-income countries
- Social science or interdisciplinary work with limited funding
- Editor-recommended outstanding submissions
How to Apply
- Indicate waiver request at submission with a short statement on funding
- Optional include a letter from your institution or supervisor
- Waiver decisions are made prior to acceptance and do not influence peer review
