Guidelines for Peer Reviewers

AI and Future Society thanks you for contributing your expertise to our peer review process. Your insights help uphold the journals academic rigor interdisciplinary relevance and ethical integrity. The following guidelines are provided to support consistent fair and constructive reviews.

1 Scope of Review

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the following:

  • Originality and contribution Does the manuscript offer novel insights or approaches
  • Relevance Is the topic aligned with the journals aims and sections
  • Theoretical grounding Are core concepts well-defined and critically engaged
  • Methodological rigor Are the methods appropriate and clearly described
  • Ethical compliance Are human subjects sensitive data or AI-generated content handled responsibly
  • Clarity and coherence Is the paper well-structured and logically argued
  • Social impact Does the work contribute to understanding or shaping society

2 Review Format

Please provide:

  • Confidential comments to the editor eg ethical issues or concerns
  • Comments to the author including:
    • Brief summary of the manuscript
    • Key strengths
    • Detailed topic-organized critiques and suggestions
    • Clear actionable recommendations

Maintain a professional tone. Avoid vague or purely negative remarks.

3 Recommendation Options

  • Accept as is or with minor edits
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject Please provide a clear rationale.

4 Anonymity and Confidentiality

AI and Future Society uses a double-blind review process. Reviewers must:

  • Not reveal their identity
  • Not contact the authors directly
  • Not share or reuse the manuscripts content

5 Conflicts of Interest

Please decline review invitations if:

  • You recently collaborated with any author
  • You share institutional affiliations
  • You have financial or personal conflicts that may affect your judgment

6 Reviewing Interdisciplinary Work

If the manuscript includes unfamiliar content assess what you can and note where additional disciplinary input may be required. We value diverse reviewer perspectives.

7 Review Timeline

Reviews are expected within 21 days. Extensions can be arranged upon request. Timely feedback supports a smooth publication workflow.
