Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
Standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure their submission is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Proper attribution of prior work is required, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
* All financial or personal conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Funding sources must be clearly acknowledged.
2. Research Involving Humans
Studies involving human subjects must have received ethical approval and informed consent. Documentation may be requested by the editorial office.
3. Data Integrity
Data must be reported honestly. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting will result in manuscript rejection or retraction.
4. Authorship Criteria
Authorship is limited to individuals who made substantial contributions. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript.
5. Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts confidentially and provide objective, constructive evaluations. Conflicts of interest must be declared.
6. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors must ensure fair and impartial decisions, maintaining confidentiality and recusing themselves when conflicts of interest arise.
7. Handling Allegations of Misconduct
PEMR follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to investigate misconduct. Confirmed cases will result in appropriate actions, including retraction and institutional notification.
8. Use of Generative AI Tools
Authors must disclose use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT). AI cannot be credited as an author and must not generate original data. AI-assisted writing must be acknowledged.
9. Corrections & Retractions
PEMR will issue corrections or retractions as necessary, in accordance with COPE best practices.
10. Copyright & Licensing
Authors retain copyright. All articles are published under a CC BY 4.0 License, allowing redistribution with proper attribution.
