Editorial Policies

Editorial Policies & Standards

Comprehensive guidelines ensuring integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing.

1. Peer Review Policy

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review by at least two experts. Reviews assess originality, rigor, clarity, and relevance. Final decisions rest with the editorial board.

2. Editorial Independence

PEMR maintains full editorial independence. Decisions are made without influence from any institutional, financial, or political sources.

3. Authorship and Responsibility

Only those who made substantial contributions should be listed as authors. Ghost and honorary authorship are prohibited. The corresponding author ensures all listed contributors approve the final version.

4. Conflict of Interest

All potential conflicts of interest—financial, institutional, or personal—must be declared. Reviewers and editors must recuse themselves where conflicts exist.

5. Research Ethics and Integrity

Authors must follow the highest ethical standards. Plagiarism, fabrication, or unethical research is not tolerated. Human subject research must include consent and institutional approval.

6. Use of Generative AI Tools

Use of tools like ChatGPT must be transparently disclosed. AI may not be credited as an author or used to generate original data.

7. Copyright and Licensing

Authors transfer first publication rights to PEMR. Content is published under CC BY 4.0, allowing reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright.

8. Appeals and Complaints

Appeals should include a written justification and are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief. Ethical complaints follow COPE guidelines.

9. Corrections and Retractions

PEMR issues corrections (errata or corrigenda) when errors are identified. Serious breaches result in retraction per COPE protocols.

10. Plagiarism Detection

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Confirmed cases will be rejected or retracted.
