Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

Zero-tolerance policy regarding academic dishonesty and content originality.

PoliEcoM Administration Review (PEMR) adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity. We have a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. To ensure efficiency and accountability, PEMR adopts a two-stage screening process involving both authors and the editorial office.

1. What Constitutes Plagiarism?

PEMR defines plagiarism as the use of others' intellectual property without attribution. This includes:

  • Verbatim Copying: Copying text without quotation marks and proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing without Citation: Rewording ideas without giving credit.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one's own work without justification.
  • Translation Plagiarism: Presenting translated text as original work.

2. Two-Stage Screening Procedure

Step 1: Author Self-Check (Mandatory)

Authors are strictly required to conduct a plagiarism check on their manuscripts prior to submission. By submitting to PEMR, authors confirm that their work is original and falls within acceptable similarity limits (typically <15% excluding references). Authors may be asked to provide a similarity report upon request.

Step 2: Editorial Random Screening

The Editorial Office conducts random spot checks and targeted screenings on submitted manuscripts using industry-standard software (e.g., iThenticate / Crossref). * Note: Even if a manuscript passes the initial check, plagiarism detected at any later stage (peer review or post-publication) will result in immediate rejection or retraction.

3. Actions and Consequences

If plagiarism is detected, PEMR follows COPE guidelines:

  • Immediate Rejection: Submissions with confirmed plagiarism will be rejected immediately.
  • Submission Ban: Authors involved may be banned from submitting to PEMR for a specified period.
  • Retraction: Published articles found to contain plagiarism will be formally retracted.
