APC & Waiver Policy
Journal of Social Cognition and Communication operates under an open access publishing model. To support editorial management, peer review, production, and digital publication services, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply to accepted manuscripts.
The journal is committed to transparent publishing practices. All publication fees are clearly stated and are independent of the editorial decision-making process. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
1. Article Processing Charge (APC)
For standard research submissions, the Article Processing Charge (APC) is:
USD 600 per accepted article
The APC covers the cost of editorial handling, double-anonymous peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, metadata preparation, online publication, and long-term digital preservation.
2. Articles Exempt from APC
Certain categories of contributions are published free of charge in order to encourage academic discussion and scholarly engagement. These include:
- Book Reviews
- Short Communications
No publication fee is required for these article types.
3. Waiver and Reduction Policy
The journal recognizes that authors from certain regions or institutions may have limited access to research funding. In appropriate cases, partial waivers or reductions of the APC may be considered.
Authors who require financial assistance may submit a waiver request to the editorial office after acceptance of their manuscript. Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may consider factors such as institutional funding availability and the author’s circumstances.
4. Editorial Independence
The payment of an APC does not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of scholarly merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, and the results of the peer review process.
Editors and reviewers do not have access to information regarding APC payments during the evaluation process.
