
Open Access Policy
Computational Social Sciences Review (CSSR) is a fully open-access journal dedicated to the unrestricted global exchange of scientific knowledge. All published articles are freely available online immediately upon publication, in alignment with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
1. Immediate and Free Access
CSSR provides instant, permanent, and barrier-free access to all published materials. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, and use the content for any lawful purpose without prior permission from the authors or the publisher.
2. Licensing Terms (CC BY 4.0)
All articles in CSSR are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits others to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material, including for commercial purposes
- Reuse the content without restrictions
Appropriate attribution to the original authors and the source must always be provided.
3. Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain full copyright to their work. By submitting to CSSR, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article under CC BY 4.0. Authors may freely archive, distribute, or reuse their work without seeking permission.
4. No Embargo Period
CSSR imposes no embargoes. The final published version (Version of Record) becomes openly accessible immediately upon publication.
5. Archiving and Digital Preservation
CSSR ensures long-term preservation through multiple digital archiving mechanisms, including:
- PKP Preservation Network (PN)
- LOCKSS and CLOCKSS
- Institutional and national repositories
- Indexing services and third-party archiving platforms
6. Author Fees
CSSR does not charge submission fees. Any publication-related fees are transparently listed in the APC Policy. Fee waivers or reductions may be granted according to editorial guidelines and author needs.
7. Commitment to Open Knowledge
CSSR is dedicated to advancing open science and equitable access to research. By adopting a fully open-access model, the journal aims to eliminate barriers to scholarly communication and promote the global dissemination of computational social science research.
