Peer Review Process
The Journal of Engineering Systems and Applications (JESA) is an annual, peer-reviewed, electronic journal dedicated to research on engineering systems, applied technologies, and interdisciplinary system-level solutions. The journal employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, manuscripts are reviewed by the Editorial Office to ensure completeness, compliance with submission guidelines, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Estimated duration: approximately 2–3 weeks.
2. Assignment to Reviewers
The Editor-in-Chief assigns each manuscript to at least two independent reviewers based on subject expertise, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest.
Estimated duration: approximately 1–2 weeks.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts for originality, technical soundness, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and practical significance.
Estimated duration: approximately 8–12 weeks.
4. Author Revisions
If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed point-by-point response letter addressing all reviewer comments.
Estimated duration: approximately 2–6 weeks, depending on revision scope.
5. Final Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer reports and the quality of revisions. In cases of conflicting evaluations, additional editorial consultation or a third review may be requested.
Estimated duration: approximately 1–2 weeks.
6. Production and Online Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, typesetting, author proof review, and online publication.
Estimated duration: approximately 2–3 weeks.
