1. What types of articles does RGGD accept?
Rural Governance and Green Development (RGGD) accepts submissions in the following sections:
- Original Research Articles: Empirical or theoretical studies on rural governance and sustainable development
- Review Articles & Theoretical Advances: Literature syntheses and conceptual frameworks
- Policy Insights & Case Studies: Practice-based analyses and governance evaluations
- Green Technologies & Digital Villages: Research on smart agriculture, carbon tools, and rural digitalization
- Governance Methods & Toolkits: Innovative methods, simulations, and participatory tools
- Young Scholars Forum: Short papers and notes by early-career researchers
- Global Comparative Studies: International perspectives and cross-country analyses
- Special Issues: Themed collections curated by guest editors
- Book Reviews: Critical reviews of scholarly books relevant to rural governance, sustainability, and related fields.
2. What is the word limit for submissions?
- Original Research Articles: 6,000–9,000 words
- Review Articles: up to 10,000 words
- Policy Insights / Case Studies: 4,000–7,000 words
- Research Notes / Brief Reports: 2,000–3,500 words
Note: Word count includes abstract, references, tables, and figures.
3. What languages are accepted?
RGGD accepts manuscripts in English or Chinese. Bilingual abstracts are required to enhance visibility.
4. How do I submit a manuscript?
Submissions must be made via the RGGD Online Submission System. New users must register before uploading manuscripts and cover letters.
5. What citation style should I use?
Authors may use either APA 7th edition or Chicago author-date. Use consistent formatting throughout the manuscript.
6. What is the peer review process?
RGGD uses double-blind peer review. Submissions are reviewed by at least two external reviewers. Average review time is 4–6 weeks.
7. Can I suggest reviewers?
Yes. Authors may suggest up to three potential reviewers in the cover letter. The editorial board retains final authority over reviewer selection.
8. Are there fees for publication?
Yes. A standard Article Processing Charge (APC) of $700 applies to accepted articles. Discounts or waivers are available for eligible authors. See our APC Policy.
9. How do I apply for a waiver?
Waivers may be requested during submission or after acceptance. Requests are confidential and do not affect editorial decisions.
10. Can I include supplementary materials?
Yes. Appendices, datasets, multimedia, and visual abstracts are accepted as supplementary files. Data repositories are encouraged.
11. What happens after acceptance?
Accepted papers undergo professional editing and typesetting. Authors will review proofs before publication. Articles are published online first and indexed immediately.
